We have extensive experience with all types of roof moisture testing equipment including Infrared, Nuclear, Capacitance, and Electrical resistance. We utilize the equipment that provides the most complete and accurate data available for the roof maintenance management decision process.
Capacitance and Nuclear equipment and testing procedures are used almost exclusively at this time. In addition to this sensitive equipment, we utilize specially calibrated electrical resistance probes and conversion tables to verify and establish the database and subsequent moisture profiles within roof assemblies.
This equipment provides us the data and our 35+ years experience enables us to identify moisture from ambient to saturation as it stratifies throughout a roof assembly. This information enables us to plot moisture from the source to where it often enters the building interior (leaks).
We use specific test equipment and techniques to accurately identify low level moisture (small quantities by weight) that is anywhere within the roof assembly and not simply associated with the top. Moisture does not stratify equally within a roof assembly. It migrates in an often-random pattern of least resistance.
"Roof maintenance management" is a primary function of our firm. We strive to utilize the equipment that supplies the most available data in a cost-effective price range. Our ability to identify low level (quantity by weight) and stratified moisture within a roof assembly makes actual "sources" identification possible.
Electronic testing and analysis is a valuable tool to the roof management process when conducted for the correct reasons. It provides data on the unseen portions of a roof system. Problems are identified and can be corrected. It helps to eliminate crisis management, which is never cost-effective.
The results from this type of testing are presented in written and electronic format. The data is extremely cost-effective when conducted for the correct reasons and with the correct methods and procedures.
OTHER TESTING:
We are experienced in all types of roof testing procedures applicable to various investigative and/or verification needs during our consulting process. We have access to and have worked with multiple testing labs and have working agreements with Professional Engineering firms, and call on each as required.
